Bring Your Game to Puma Basketball Try-Outs

San Joaquin County Office of Education is launching the first traveling basketball team open to all San Joaquin County boys and girls in grades 6-12, called SJCOE Puma Basketball. Kids who sign-up to participate in the traveling basketball team will be able to participate in multiple Amateur Athletic Union AAU and North American Youth Sports NAYS tournaments starting in March. Former collegiate level basketball players will coach the kids. If your son or daughter is interested, sign-up for one of the try out dates and times online: www.sjcoe.orgpumabball. 11th Annual Autism Collaborative Forum

11th Annual Autism Collaborative Forum brings Dr. Peter Gerhardt, an expert on Adults with Autism and Asperger?s Syndrome.

The drastic increase of autism and related disorders is now one case per 110 people according to the Centers for Disease Control. Given this information, there is a steadily growing number of adolescents and young adults affected. Dr. Peter Gerhardt, an expert on adults with autism and Asperger?s Syndrome will present on how to identify and plan for the future of these individuals, including transition from adolescence to adulthood, employment goals, community integration, social competence, sexuality, and quality of life concerns. Please join us for this very informative and construction presentation.

Registration: 7-8 a.m., Presentation: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. San Joaquin County Office of Education, Wentworth Education Center 2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton. Costs varies from $20-$50. Registration deadline: March 5.

Victory In Praise Literacy Day

The First 5 of San Joaquin County and the faith based organization Victory In Praise Church are hosting Literacy Day. This event will take place on Saturday, June 2nd from

10 a.m. - 2 p.m..

It will help promote reading and learning in a fun and entertaining environment for the whole family! There will be music, arts crafts, book readings, storytelling, games, food and much more! This event is FREE to the whole community.
