Relay For Life of Stockton

At Relay for Life of Stockton, teams of people gather at this unique event to simulate that cancer never sleeps. The first lap of the Relay For Life celebrates cancer survivors. Anyone who has ever heard the words you have cancer is invited to participate. At night, the Luminaria Ceremony remembers all of those who battled cancer. The track is illuminated with bags marked with the names of those still fighting, those who won the battle, and those we have lost. This ceremony symbolizes the hope and perseverance with which every participant will continue to fight against this disease. Around the track are also booths that each team designs to be fun, provide cancer education and also to raise funds for the cause by selling food or other items.Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society?s signature event that brings together teams from local companies, schools, family and friend, and clubs to walk the track, taking one day in the life of someone with cancer.
