Economic Development Department
Economic development is one of Stockton's main focuses during this time when so many of Stockton's citizens are facing financial challenges. Our focus is to develop jobs, attract new businesses to Stockton, maintain a healthy business environment for existing businesses, assist small businesses to get started and provide housing for low income residents.
In addition, the department manages City assets, such as real property and the Central Parking District, and works on programs and efforts to prevent blight and stimulate growth through our Redevelopment programs.

The downtown Cineplex is a good example of Redevelopment dollars being used to stimulate economic development in an urban environment.
